I'm on a Mission
The album is mostly a one-man show, displaying
Kaye's talents as a songwriter, singer, keyboardist, percussionist,
and producer. In addition to recording six CDs, Kaye also wrote and
starred in Tales from the Far Country. Grammy-nominated producer
Greg Landau said of the one-man show: "The raw and explosive talent
of Mark Kaye and his original songs and music combine to create the
most unique and entertaining musical experience I've ever seen."

Mark Kaye
Born in
Seattle and raised in Hawaii and the San Francisco’s Mission District,
Mark Kaye started playing the piano at the age of five. “My father, a
merchant seaman, brought home a miniature upright piano made in
Korea,” Mark says. “As soon as I touched it, it was mine.
That piano was the only thing my father gave me and my three brothers
that we didn’t fight over.” Kaye started singing and writing original
songs at age 11, and now plays piano, keyboards, vibes, drums, conga
and Latin percussion. He has studied with some of the premier music
teachers in the world; notably, Mark Lavine, Smith Dobson, and Tom
Coster. Mark also completed three years at San Francisco State
University with a major in Music Composition.
Based in
San Francisco, Mark Kaye and his band have been performing for almost
two years; in 2003, their tour dates will cover the West Coast.
(E-mail regarding on-air concert/interview opportunities.)
Mark has been writing and producing independent projects in the San
Francisco Bay Area since1994. He has worked alone and with other
local producers.
